This yellow-rumped warbler’s winter color pattern had me thinking it was a juvenile flycatcher. It was foraging with a group of several dozen warblers in Black Marsh at North Point State Park, Maryland.
Due to the size of the group that this bird was with, I suspect that they are transient visitors to Maryland and on their way to wintering grounds farther south.
Thanks to my Twitter friends for helping me identify it. I was able to go back out to North Point State Park on the next day and get a few more photographs of these lovely little birds.
