These little song sparrows at Cromwell Valley Park, Maryland tend to stay in the meadow under the cover of thick brush. I haven’t observed them near the park’s feeders and caught a good sunlight shot of this one as I was taking a shortcut through the upper pasture.
They have a number of melodic calls and songs, that you can listen to at the Audubon website before heading into the field.
