Cardinals In-Flight

Female cardinals maneuver through a tangle of vines and thorns – January 30, 2015 at Cromwell Valley Park, MD

In a continuation of my experiments with photographing small birds in-flight, I caught these two female cardinals traversing a tangle of vines and thorns. Notice how the foreground bird is flipped on her side to avoid the vines. There is the tiniest bit of blur in the photo, but I’m happy with the result enough to post it.

See my previous post, House Finch, for another example of a small bird in-flight.
